Upcycle (Crochet) Your Dollar Store Hat

Image
See this little cutie in the picture below? Like every year, I bought her a new winter coat. Isn't it wonderful to be a kid? They grow like weeds and get a whole new wardrobe for each season. I found the coat at a second hand store. It was like brand new and only cost about eight dollars. Isn't that amazing?  Unfortunately her hat from last year did not match the new coat. I got super lucky and found a simple black hat that would match perfectly.I found it at the dollar store. The hat fit my Honey Bunny good but it was a little thin and boring. I immediately knew what to do. I would crochet onto the original hat to make it warmer and more interesting. Take a look at the picture directly below. See the hat was just a plain simple toque with no brim. Starting with my size 5 hook, I single crocheted all around the edge of the hat. I was surprised how easy my hook went through both layers. When I got to the end I slip stitched into the first sc. Chaine

Women's Crocheted Boot Slippers

Image
A few weeks ago I collected a few slipper patterns for the whole family. You can find that post HERE .  I was supposed to make at least five pairs.  How did I do? Not good.  I managed to complete three pairs. The first pair was for my granddaughter. You can see it HERE . The second set of slippers was made for one of my daughters. She wanted black boot slippers.  I had a really hard time finding a free boot slipper pattern so I made my own. To make these awesome boot slippers, you need to know how to crochet a double crochet, a single crochet and a bobble stitch. My daughter absolutely loves her slippers and wants more.  Silly girl. I have several other projects to finish before I can get back to making something for her. If she's lucky she might get a pair next winter. LOL.  POST A COMMENT I love to read your opinions and comments. It makes my day.  Bye for now.  Wishing you the best, Darlene My apologies, all anonymous comments are dele
