Painted Rocks

I love to paint. I'll paint just about anything. I've painted walls, tables, material and even my couch.

Today I am sharing our painted rocks. There is all kinds of inspiration on Pinterest but ours look nothing like them.

These rocks were painted by six year old kiddy winks - and me. Unfortunately I was helping the girls so much that I didn't have the time to do anything exciting on my rock. Although it is a pretty colour - red is my favorite.

Check it out.

These are my adorable granddaughters - the artists working on their masterpieces.

Look at the concentration.

We use our rocks for holding doors open. Great for the summer when all the windows are open and the strong breeze likes to shut the doors.

They look great in the garden too.

July's Creative Challenge Link Party #7 - Something from Nature

Welcome to July's Creative Craft Challenge!

For the month of July, the material we are challenging you to re-purpose, recycle, or upcycle is something from nature.

The Craft Challenge Creative Link Party
is brought to you by:

Kristina & Millie @ 2 Crochet Hooks Blog/Pinterest/FB/Twitter
Bonnie @ Our Secondhand House Blog/Pinterest/FB/Twitter
Robin @ Redo It Yourself Inspirations Blog/Pinterest/FB/Twitter
Darlene @ Let It Shine Blog/Pinterest/FB/Twitter

I hope you will consider following your hosts.
It's a nice gesture, though not required :)

Your hostesses will announce on the first Friday of each month what the crafting challenge is - typically this will be a common item found in or around your home - you must use this item in your creation.

You then have until the last Friday of the month to complete your project and link it up below. You may link up a previously completed craft but we hope you will be inspired to create something new!

The Upcoming Material Challenges:
  • August: Food Cans
  • September – dishes/glass/plastic/metal
  • October – broken jewelry
  • November – margarine/cool whip bowls
  • December – unique wreath

RULES:
1. Use the material we are currently challenging: items from nature.
2. Make sure the project is reused, recycled, or upcycled.
3. Come back as many times as you want ; the party lasts the entire month.

Crocheted Barefoot Sandals

When I first saw these barefoot sandals on Pinterest I knew I had to make a pair or two. They were just so pretty. Then I read the pattern and thought oh my, it looks complicated but as it turns out they are pretty easy to make and quick.

I am very grateful to the designer for sharing this pattern. You can find it HERE.

I’ve also included the pattern down below because I want to show you how I spread the instructions out to make it easier for me to follow. You may prefer the traditional way crochet patterns are written in which case you can go directly to the designer’s page HERE.
