Super Simple and Quick Strawberry Desert the Whole Family Will Enjoy

Bowl of strawberriesI can buy strawberries all year round. But they only come into season here once a year.

To me strawberries mark the beginning of summer. And that means strawberry treats of all kinds.

Here is a super quick and easy desert you can whip up in virtually minutes.

So simple the kids can help and have fun doing it.

I hope you give it a try and enjoy.

Ingredients

·       Angel Food Cake

·       Strawberries

·       Custard

·       Whipped Cream




Instructions
  1. Slice cake in half horizontally.
  2. Slice the strawberries.
  3. Spread the cake’s bottom layer with custard.
  4. Place the sliced the strawberries on top of the custard.
  5. Now top that with some whipped cream.
  6. Gently place the top half of the cake onto the bottom layer.
  7. Repeat steps 3 and 4 on top of the cake.
  8. Add some full strawberries for decoration.

 All done. So simple and quick. And so yummy.

It was so hot that day that the whipped cream just melted into a puddle within seconds.

I changed it up this year. I think this is so much fun.

 I sliced the angel food cake into eight pieces and chopped up the strawberries. I placed the strawberries, custard and whipped cream in the middle of the table each with a spoon. I then gave everyone a piece of cake and told them to dig in.

My 8 year old granddaughter loves watching those cooking shows. She decorated the plate with custard then piled the other ingredients on. She was afraid to have a picture of her plate on the blog because she believed everyone would think it looked bad but I told her she was silly - it looked yummy.

    oh sounds delish! I haven't seen custard in a can but will be looking now! If not, I reckon making pudding and adding would work too and just think of all the flavors!! Thanks for the strawberry dessert recipe!

    Love anything strawberry and like Millie had never seen custard in a can, either. Will have to be on the lookout for that to try this yummy looking, easy to make dessert!

DIY Wind Chimes - Recycle Spoons

Hi there. So glad you decided to stop by and check out my DIY wind chimes made from recycled spoons. I had to make something to meet the May Craft Challenge. And I was lucky enough to get all the supplies for under two dollars. Score! Bummer I din't finish it on time. My supplies include six spoons, fishing line, an old candle holder and a clip I had hiding in my stash of goodies. Since I don't have a drill or anything to make holes in the spoons to thread the fishing line through, I had to find a different way to hang my spoons.  If you look at the picture to the left, you can see the spoons are wrapped and tied with the fishing line. I decided to use the candle holder upside down. It just seemed to look better. I tied the spoons to the candle holder - the wind chime base.
